Tuesday nights under the soccer field lights is a tradition for Farragut High School students and families. The Lady Ads have been the driving force for women’s sports at Farragut for years and aren’t stopping any time soon. In 2018, the Lady Ads went 7-12-1, beating teams like Grace and Heritage. Losing a lot of great seniors this year, the Ads are relying on the current seniors to keep them at their best.

The Lady Ads finished their last season 73rd in the state and went 4-4 in district play. The Ads had hard losses to Catholic, Oak Ridge, and Maryville. Playing away games were hard on the Ads, with them being 3-9 when traveling. They had a win percentage of .375%, something the Lady Ads want to increase this year. With Amy Cloud, Elizabeth Everleigh, Madeline Hammon, Madelyn Dresson, and Riley Clayton leaving, the Ads lost some prominent leaders on and off the field.

The Ads are hopeful for the new season with new senior captains. One of the senior captains, Abby Rhodes, talked to us about her hopes for the upcoming season.

Abby shares as a senior, “My main goal is just to have a fun senior year and work hard to get as far as we can.”

The girls soccer team at Farragut is a tight knit family that encourages each other to work harder and play better, especially with influential seniors as mentors to younger girls.

“There’s definitely pressure as a senior and a captain to do well and be a good leader, but everyone’s so encouraging and we’re all a big family so that takes a lot of the pressure off.”

As a new season is starting, the Ads are 2-2-2 and 1-0-1 in district play. They are hopeful for the games to come and are working hard at playing their best with help from their fellow teammates.
