Bills Fans Get Married at Halftime

“You intercepted my heart. Let’s tackle the world together. Will you marry me?” said the groom-to-be.

Sunday Night Football is a special event for many people in America, but on Sept. 29th, a couple got to align it with their own special day. The Buffalo Bills held a raffle during the build up of the upcoming game against the New England Patriots. The raffle was for an opportunity to get married at halftime with the participation of the team.  Mackenzie Park and Jordan Binggeli won the chance of a lifetime to get married in front of 70,000 fans cheering them on.  The Bills lost 16-10, but that didn’t matter.

When asked about the plans for the wedding once the winners had been announced, the vice president of marketing for Bills responded. Shaena Kershner expressed her passion for giving them the best experience possible.

Kershner told WIVB, “So, they’re gonna have hair and make up before the wedding starts. They’ll have cake cutting and a first dance after. They also get to watch the second half in the business class with all the legends that are here which I think there are 120 legends.”

Along with friends and family, the former Bills legends, Kyle Williams, Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, and Steve Tasker, were in the wedding as groomsmen. The couple expressed their love for the team and how long they had been apart of their lives. Their first date was at a Bills game and allowed their relationship to grow.

In response to Jordan’s proposal, quoted in the secondary headline, Mackenzie said, “It’s the icing on the cake. It’s the touchdown. It’s a Hail Mary and we scored with no seconds left. We won.”
