Stranger Things 4

Stranger Things 4

Just when the Stranger Things hype began to die down, the brand dropped some big news. Stranger Things season 4 was officially confirmed to return on Wednesday.

What is Stranger Things and why has the show became a phenomenon across America for the last few years?

It is a science fiction, horror, web television series that is broadcast exclusively on Netflix. The series was created by the Duffer Brothers, who are also executive producers along with Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen and Iain Paterson. The show starts in Hawkins, Indiana, in 1983. A young boy, Will Byers, goes missing near a top-secret government laboratory. On the same night, a strange young girl appears at a diner in the town. She has telekinetic powers and is on the run from the laboratory. The laboratory is researching supernatural phenomena and may have unwittingly unlocked a gateway to another dimension. That is the basic plot of the story and the characters figure out the mystery behind where the boy went and where the girl came from. It is a very dramatic series that requires tons of hours watched to get into it. It has become one of Netflix’s most popular shows and is loved by millions.

With each season becoming  increasingly intriguing and popular, season 4’s official announcement was exciting for all new and returning fans. Despite being expected due to the success of the series, it was reassuring to learn a new season will conclude the established cliffhanger.

When will the new season be released?

Rumors have suggested that production will begin very soon, as early as this year. However, all the episodes will most likely not air until around late 2020 or the 2021 year.

What do we know about the direction of Stranger Things?

We know that most of the previous cast will remain the same, but besides that there’s not much else that we know officially. Since the show takes place in Hawkins, Indiana, everyone initially expected the setting to remain the same. However, recently Stranger Things official account tweeted:

“We are not in Hawkins anymore.”

This suggests that season 4 might not take place in Hawkins at all or there will be at least another new location we have not explored before. Many fans have theories as to where the show is headed, but none will most likely be confirmed until Stranger Things 4 is officially released.
