Boys Soccer at Farragut High School

The men’s soccer team is a driving force at Farragut because of their well rounded teammates and the drive to win, and their 19-3-1 record from their 2018-2019 season proves it. The Ads beat honorable teams like West and Bearden in regular season play and were 5-0 overall in district play. The Ads destroyed Hardin Valley and Maryville to become District champs and later took the title of Regional Champs. The Ads suffered a devastating loss to Bearden in Sectionals that ended their season and their hopes for a State Championship.

With this loss, this year’s seniors are eager to bounce back from this and lead the team to a state championship. Senior Avery Hathaway has played on the Farragut team all four years and sat down with us to talk about the upcoming year season.

Avery said, “The biggest lesson we learned last year was that bad attitudes and individual play can ruin the team.”

To improve this season, Avery will strive to be a role model as a senior and will contribute to the team daily. The team makes efforts to bond by doing things like going on hikes and having team dinners.

The senior says, “I show up to extra events and every practice to set an example.”

With a great bond between the seniors, this season is looking bright. By knowing what to improve on, we are confident that our Ads will go great this season.

Avery states, “I’m most excited for this season because I’m playing with the people I grew up playing with.”

Come see the Ads in action on Feb. 18th as they play Catholic for their first pregame matchup at Catholic!
