Wes Anderson’s French Dispatch


It has been two years since Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dogs (2018) and six since the esteemed Grand Budapest Hotel (2014). Well known for his visual symmetry, mesmerizing color palettes, and distinct storytelling techniques, movie buffs everywhere have been craving another masterpiece from the director. Lucky for them, the wait is nearly over.

The trailer for Anderson’s highly anticipated The French Dispatch, his 10th feature film, has just been released. From the trailer, one can determine that the story unfolds in 1950’s France, following an American journalist, Arthur Howitzer, who starts up his own magazine alongside a team of other great journalists.

It will not be hard to believe this team of journalists is great when the all star cast portraying them is ever greater. Performances by Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, Timothee Chalamet, Elizabeth Moss, Owen Wilson, Benicio Del Toro, and Saoirse Ronan among others are expected to rack up many Oscar nominations.

Set to be released to the public on July 24 of this year, The French Dispatch is sure to be a cinematic treat to movie lovers of every genre
