HOSA Thanksgiving Boxes

HOSA Thanksgiving Boxes

Hundreds of thousands of families every year in America can’t afford a Thanksgiving dinner and this year is no different. With the COVID pandemic spreading around, many people have lost their jobs and it’s harder than ever to afford a Thanksgiving meal. However, a club at Farragut High School called Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) is planning to stop that.

HOSA is making Thanksgiving boxes to give to low-income families in need around our community. HOSA meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month and this specific month their project is making Thanksgiving boxes. Mrs. McNeer, the HOSA advisor, said that, “We are collecting food items as well as monetary donations… These contributions need to be in my room by Tuesday, November the 17th.”

HOSA is also a great club to be in as many students who are in it enjoy their time. Joshua Tesar, a student in HOSA, said “I enjoy HOSA. It’s a fun experience and I recommend people to join.”  He also said that, “I love giving back to families in need in our community and this is a great way to do it.”
